Product Summary

The LVX161284 is a low voltage Translating Transceiver. The LVX161284 contains eight bidirectional data buffersand eleven control/status buffers to implement a fullIEEE 1284 compliant interface. The device supports the IEEE LVX161284 standard and is intended to be used in anExtended Capabilities Port mode (ECP). The pinout allowsfor easy connection from the Peripheral (A-side) to theHost (cable side). Outputs on the cable side can be configured to be eitheropen drain or high drive (r 14 mA) and are connected to aseparate power supply pin (VCC-cable) to allow these out-puts to be driven by a higher supply voltage than the A-side.

Parametrics

LVX161284 absolute maximum ratings: (1)Supply Voltage-VCC: 0.5V to 4.6V; (2)Supply Voltage-VCC—Cable: 0.5V to 7.0V; (3)Input Diode Current (IIK)—(Note 4): 20 mA; (4)DC Continuous VCC or Ground: 200 mA; (5)Storage Temperature: 65 to 150℃; (6)CESD (HBM) Last Passing Voltage: 2000V.

Features

LVX161284 features: (1)IEEE 1284 Level 1 and Level 2 signalin gstandards for bidirectional parallel communications between personal computers and printing peripherals; (2)Translation capability allows outputs on the cable side to interface with 5V signals; (3)All inputs have hysteres is to provide noise margins B and Y output resistance optimized to drive external cable; (4)B and Y outputs in high impedance mode during power down; (5)Inputs and outputs on cable side have internal pull-up resistors.
