The MAX232AESE is especially useful in battery-powered systems, since its low-power shutdown mode reduces power dissipation to less than 5μW. The MAX232AESE uses no external components and is recommended for applications where printed circuit board space is critical. The applications of the MAX232AESE include Portable Computers, Low-Power Modems, Interface Translation, Battery-Powered RS-232 Systems and Multidrop RS-232 Networks.
